Book Vision Care has been part of the community for over forty years, a place where families return generation after generation. When it came time to reimagine their Scurfield location, they called for a space that could hold that sense of history while stepping forward into something new—more room, more function, and an experience that matched the quality of care and craftsmanship they are known for.
The project included renovating their existing suite and taking over the adjacent suite which allowed for a reconfiguration of the space to better support their patients. The renovation unfolded in phases, allowing the clinic to stay open throughout, with only a brief closure. This thoughtful pacing mirrored our design approach: creating an environment that feels measured, intentional, and calm. The expanded footprint brought opportunities to introduce a new pre-testing area, a third exam lane, dedicated space for contact fittings, a larger lab, a larger staff area, accounting office and a much larger dispensary—transforming how patients move through the clinic.
Design details were quiet but precise. We worked with a palette of natural materials: neutral white oak, warm walnut, and a softly textured plaster that sits behind frame displays like a subtle canvas. Clear display bars and integrated lighting ensure that the frames themselves remain the hero, while full-length mirrors float effortlessly within the space. At reception, marble-look porcelain lends a timeless sense of ease, paired with custom millwork that integrates wood logos and hidden storage with clarity and purpose.

This is a space that doesn’t need to speak loudly. It allows the product, the service, and the care to take the lead—supporting it all with a foundation of thoughtful, enduring design.
