Lumi Dental is a woman-owned boutique dental office located in Winnipeg.

Our clients’ goal was to provide their patients with an alternative experience to the typical sterile dental clinic setting, instead creating a luxe space which was welcoming and calm. With this in mind, we were able to design a space with the intent of easing the anxiety that’s often associated with visiting the dentist.

We took advantage of the large footprint of the clinic to provide ample seating as well as ottomans for coffee or tea while you wait. Installing banquette seating added a welcoming softness with durable, easy to wipe finishes that can last.

Spa inspired undertones were incorporated throughout to emphasize the relaxing environment and to help calm the nerves of patients. We integrated fresh, clean, and minimal features, which includes several nods to nature: using poured tile in aqua marine colour tones resembling water, as well as a lush and dense greenery wall behind the front desk.

The bulkhead above the main desk reinforces the shape of the desk and magnifies the goal of limited stimulation for guests in order to feel the tranquility of the environment (less stimulation, less anxiety!)

All through the space, we communicated the Lumi Dental the brand. Our clients are quirky themselves, and we were able to incorporate design touches to emphasize their personality – think neon signs and animal print backing.
