PHOTOGRAPHY May 11 Studio

A departure from our typical projects, May 11 Studio gave us the opportunity to work with our clients on a brand new photography studio.

We designed several micro environments with creative, dramatic, and unique backdrops to inspire creativity for local photographers. Our client is a photographer herself and wanted a space that could be rented by others who were looking for neutral backdrops all in one studio.

What began as a large blank room became two distinct studios: Studio A and Studio B with over 10 unique backdrops throughout. We also designed space for a second washroom and shared changing area for each studio. 

Studio A backdrops include:

  • a French moulding wall with trim details with a feature, faux fireplace

  • a recessed niche with a mediterranean feel

  • a pink wall with soft archway details

  • a two toned space with vertical black stripes. 

Studio B features several backdrops including:

  • a dark and moody green wall

  • a faux plant wall with a clawfoot tub

  • a beige tone wall with geometric grid

  • a plush floral wall

  • a bright area with natural light for boudoir photos

This space gives our client and her fellow photographers a practical and artistic space to create in every season - perfect for those extended Winnipeg winters.
